Why You Should Optimize Your Menu for Delivery

Not every great dish travels great. After 1K+ deliveries, our partner chefs know exactly what survives the ride — and what arrives tired. Here are five rules from the kitchens with the highest delivery ratings.

1. Pack crisp separately. Fries, tempura and toast ride in vented compartments, never sealed with steam. Marlow Lane's crisp rate went from 70% to 98% with one packaging change.

2. Sauces on the side. A burger with sauce in a pot arrives springy; the same burger pre-sauced arrives soggy. Customers love the little ritual of finishing the dish themselves.

3. Bowls beat plates. Grain bowls, curries and stews barely notice a 25-minute ride — they might even taste better. The Rainbow Buddha Bowl is our proof.

"Design for the doorstep, not the pass. If it needs tweezers, it needs rethinking." — Chef, The Harbourside

4. Temperature zones matter. Hot proteins and cold garnishes travel in different layers. Two minutes of packing saves the whole dish.

5. Test the ride. Every new Plateparcel partner does a test delivery to our own team before going live. If we wouldn't reorder it, it doesn't launch.

Running a kitchen and curious? Our launch team brings the packaging, the photo shoot and the delivery know-how — you bring the cooking.
